Alfred Austin (10 years old)
He is the fourth child of a single mother with seven children. They all live together in a single cramped room. His mother struggles very hard to raise them as she is unemployed. We have decided to support only one child in our education project, which is Alfred. Alfred is in grade 4 at Masemene Primary School and will be taking his grade 4 national exam at the end of this year. If he passes, he will move on to grade 5 next year. With more support and his dedication to his studies, we believe he will succeed.
Elizabeth Juma(8 years old) lives with both of her parents, including her father who was a Boda Boda driver before an accident left him disabled and unable to support his family. Elizabeth is currently in Standard 2 at Butimba Primary School.
John Joseph(13 years old) is a quiet and lovely boy, he attends standard 6 at Masemene Primary School. Raised by his grandmother as his parents are absent, we encountered him in December 2023 during our street outreach in Buswelu, Ilemela district. After learning about his difficult situation and his grandmother's struggles to provide for him, my partner Ema and I decided to enroll him in the Safe Haven Education. Our hope is that John will thrive in this program and achieve his dream of being able to support his beloved grandmother in the future.
Meet Leila(12 years old), a bright student in Standard 6 at Nyegezi Primary School. She lives with her single mother, never having the chance to know her father. Just like many other girls in Tanzania, Leila dreams of becoming the first lady of her country, inspired by the success of Mama Samia Suluhu. She particularly enjoys civics and history classes, as well as English class.
In her free time, Leila loves to play netball, a sport she is passionate about. But besides sports, she also has other hobbies. When she's not busy with school work, you can find her watching cartoons, reading children's books, or singing. Leila's voice is full of enthusiasm and positivity, reflecting the bright future she envisions for herself.
My dear friend Doto Mussa(8 years old) is a wonderful boy who is always a joy to be around. He is the twin brother of Kurua and is currently in standard 3 at Masemene primary school. Doto lives with his grandmother and twin sister. When we first met him, he was struggling in school, but after enrolling him in Education Tanzania's education project, we have seen him thrive. With continued support, we believe Doto will be able to catch up and succeed in his studies.
Introducing Kurwa(8 years old), a talented student in 2nd grade at Maseme primary school. She resides with her grandmother and twin brother since her parents passed away when she was only 3 years old. Kurua aspires to become a nurse and has a passion for drawing, reading, and English classes.
Simon Juma(6 years old), Elizabeth's younger brother, also has a father who was disabled in a Boda Boda accident several years ago. Simon is currently in Standard 1 at Butimba Primary School. With your help and support, we believe we can make a difference in their lives.
Daudi Charles (15 years old) was encountered at the streets of Nyegezi bus terminal. He was supposed to start Form 1 this year, but he ran away from home due to his uncle's abuse. He is now receiving support from our food, education, and residential projects. Daudi is a bright young boy, and with your support and donation, we hope to have him start Form 1 under our education project early next year.
